Yes, I think that for someone like me who has dozens of accounts everywhere there is the need to connect everything together.
So far I have managed to integrate my updates successfully only with FriendFeed but it does not give me a way to have a single login to all these accounts and the cross-site integration is only one way. I like the new option of being able to send updates from FriendFeed directly to Twitter although I have disabled most of my accounts as I don't want to create too much noise everywhere. Ideally I would like the option of having the output of each room I create to go to the service or services I choose. For instance I might want anything related to music from "my music room" to go to Pownce or anything internet related to be published on Twitter. Or whatever. But as far as I know that is not possible yet.
I've tried Ping.fm, it lets you update your status in a variety of sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Identi.ca etc with a single message but let's be honest do I really need to tell the whole internet what I'm doing? I promise I will only use it when I have something extraordinary to tell which is very unlikely to happen. And ideally I want to use different sites for different subjects without creating duplicates. I have also tried Lifestream.fm which is FriendFeed with less options.
There is a new service that apparently launched yesterday called Power.com
(I cannot believe that a domain name like that was not already taken) that says provides a login for all social media although I can only see the 5 social networking sites and I don't have an account with four of them and YouTube appears to be in Portuguese. And Facebook wants to do the same thing anyway.
I am checking out this Tarpipe which I do not think it's what I need. I'm still waiting.
